The Brief.

A family home in The Sunshine Coast wanted to cut their power bills and stop sending their daytime solar back to the grid for next to nothing

With a busy household and most of their power used in the evenings, they needed a system that could generate plenty during the day and keep the house running well after dark.

The roof had several smaller sections at different angles, so a standard layout wouldn’t work. We designed a 13.3kW solar system spread across the best-performing roof faces to capture sun from morning through to late afternoon. A Sigenergy battery and inverter were installed on the side of the house, tucked neatly out of the way and easy to access for monitoring and maintenance.

Coastal Energy
approach

Rather than squeezing panels onto one roof face, we split the array across multiple sections to spread generation over the day. We chose Sigenergy for its modular design, so the owners can add more battery capacity later as their needs change.

Results

  •  13.3kW of solar spread across multiple roof sections
  • 24kWh Sigenergy battery powering the home through the evening
  •  Neat, compact install with minimal footprint on the property
  •  Battery capacity that can grow as the family’s needs change
